Unlike its predecessor which introduces many new features, Windows 7 is more focused on the development of basic Windows, with the aim to make it more compatible with applications and computer hardware that is compatible with Windows Vista. Windows 7 was released to computer manufacturers on Jand released to the public on October 22, 2008, less than three years after the release of its predecessor, Windows Vista. Windows 7 is the latest release of Microsoft Windows that replaces Windows Vista.
